Pick up the October issue of Ebony to read two of my pieces: one on black boys and the police, in the form of a suggested script to help parents have that dreaded talk with their sons; and the other a profile of Brian Banks, who got a shot at his pro football dreams after being wrongfully convicted of rape and spending five years in jail and five years on probation. He was recently cut by the Falcons, but that doesn’t take away one iota from his moving tale.
